Dive Maratua, Kakaban and Sangalaki
A cottage dive resort in Teluk Harapan village — for divers, snorkellers, and anyone who wants to be near the sea.
About the Resort
Small Resort. Real Village. Good Diving.
Borneo Cottage sits in the corner of Teluk Harapan village on the north-west coast of Maratua — right next to the main village jetty, a five-minute walk from local shops and food stalls. Eight rooms, a private beach, and a dedicated dive team.
The resort is built from local wood and run with a warmth the island is known for — mealtimes are communal, the food comes in fresh off the fishing boats each day, and the pace is unhurried. A good fit for divers looking for a solid all-inclusive package, and well suited to snorkellers and non-divers too. Meet the team →

Packages & Rates
We Recommend at Least 6 Nights
A stay of 6 nights is the sweet spot. It’s the minimum that includes one trip each to Kakaban (jellyfish lake and outer reef), Sangalaki (manta rays and turtle nesting grounds), and The Channel on Maratua. Shorter stays cover Maratua dive sites only — you’ll miss three of the best dives in the archipelago.
Whale shark watching at Talisayan is available as an add-on at any point during your stay.

Diving
Dive Centre
The resort has a purpose-built dive centre and clean, well-kept dive boats to cater for divers. The dive team have worked these reefs for years and know the currents, the best entry points, and where to find things on any given day. Three dives per day, divemaster on every trip.
Most Maratua trips are also suitable for snorkellers. If you don’t dive, you can still join the boat and explore the shallows above the reefs.

Accommodation
Our Rooms
Eight rooms across two categories — four chalets and four standard rooms. All include hot water, air-conditioning, private bathroom, and a terrace. Double or twin configuration available. Spinner dolphins pass along the coast most evenings; the terrace is the right place to be when they do.
Chalet

The four chalets are the larger option — each facing the beach directly, with a double bed, private bathroom, and air-conditioning. Built in a traditional Indonesian style: simple, well-made, and comfortable after a long day in the water.

Standard Room

The four standard rooms are arranged in a double-storey building, each with its own small private balcony. A well-equipped, practical option for guests who spend most of their time on the water.

Dining
Our Kitchen
Fresh seafood is central to the menu — bought daily from fishermen at nearby Teluk Harapan jetty and prepared in the island style with local produce. All meals are included in the package. Meals are served in our dining area with an unobstructed sea view, featuring both indoor and outdoor dining options.
