Built on the North West coast of Maratua the resort is a refreshing blend of quite modern facilities with a traditional touch. Nearby Teluk Harapan jetty is an athmospheric spot and makes it the ideal spot from which to explore the local area. Harapan also has its own beach area where you might find locals spending the day with their families. This is one of the few resorts with full facilities on this small island and also benefits from being brand new in construction with excellent modern conveniences.
The resort has been constructed of local wood in keeping with the natural feel of the island in general and has its own private beach area for guests to relax. The owner’s philosophy is to offer guests comfort and exciting experiences while at the same time supporting the local community and encouraging the culture and ecology of Maratua and its people.
Borneo Cottage Maratua
The entire resort enjoys a cosy, homely atmosphere. Traditional Indonesian hospitality is known for its warm and relaxed nature but Maratuans are, if possible, even friendlier and more than a little charming. Mealtimes are taken in the dining area and you can enjoy traditional food with a spectacular sea-view. The food is bought locally and prepared fresh each day with typical Indonesian fayre.
Our Rooms
There are also two room categories: chalets and standard rooms available, with the resort’s private beach on the doorstep for those who prefer a little more space and privacy. These rooms each have a small terrace at the front for guests to relax and enjoy the fantastic scenery with a coffee or a cool drink in the evening. It is worth keeping an eye out to sea, as you might see a spectacular show from the island’s spinner dolphins, making their way along the coast.
Both types of rooms comes with hot water, air-conditioning and attached bathroom. Double bed or twin bed configuration can be arranged. The chalets are larger and offers a nice view of the beach.

Chalet
Our best rooms, these chalets are available with large double bed, a private bathroom and air conditioning to keep you comfortable and well rested after a day’s island activities. The interior is focussed on simplicity and comfort, the traditional Indonesian way.
Standard Room
The Standard Room is a unique configuration, comprising four individual room units that are housed within a double-storey building. Each room has it’s own small private balcony.
